3Com 3C588 MultiConnect Repeater
This is a rather imposing hub which forms the heart of my home network. I
acquired it from my place of work when we finally upgraded to a new Synoptics
24-port hub. It's currently got 15 RJ45
10BT ports on it, three to a card. There are five cards installed,
and room for ten more, so you can do the math. Of course, it would not be
worth adding any cards to this unit, even if I did ever need the additional
ports.
Although I have the documentation which came with this unit, I still do not
have any idea what the female DB9 connector on the first slot is for. I have
tried connecting a terminal to it, but nothing happened. I guess it will
remain a mystery.
Update - I no longer have this item, since I have sold it.
